Job Summary:

The Director of Production and Patient Safety is responsible for the efficient operation of the production in the Pharmacy department. The position will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate pharmaceutical care while delivering high quality care in services. The manager will work closely with the Pharmacy team to adhere to the Mission, Vision, Values and Goals of Select Rx and strive for achievement of customer service and satisfaction of all clients.

Essential Functions:

  • Develops and implements a management plan for the Pharmacy department that supports the mission and goals of the company.
  • Directs hiring, orientation, training, supervision, evaluation, and licensure of Pharmacy staff.
  • Effectively communicates standards, delegates successfully, and supervises follow through.
  • Maintains effect checks and controls over the area of responsibility and initiates change when necessary.
  • Develops realistic plans that meet the company goals and future needs. Exhibits foresight in recognizing potential problems and develops solutions. Foresees changes and trends.
  • Tracks and adheres to financial plan. Make sound decisions that consider cost/benefit.
  • Initiates and implements Quality Improvement plans for the Pharmacy department.
  • Supervises departmental personnel including; hiring, orientation, training, monitoring, determining workload and delegating assignments, scheduling and evaluating performance (on an annual basis or as needed with HR Manager), and initiative corrective and disciplinary actions.
  • Implement and adhere to Select Rx policies and procedures.
  • Operate within the professional standards in compliance with Federal, State and local regulations.

This position has supervisory responsibility for employees in the Pharmacy department.


This job operates in a professional office environment.

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Saturday. This position may occasionally require extended evening hours as job duties demand.

Training & Experience

  • B.S. Pharmacy degree or Pharm. D. degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy.
  • The Pharmacy Manager must currently be licensed by the IN State Board of Pharmacy to practice pharmacy in the state of Indiana.
