Job Summary:

SelectQuote is seeking a highly capable Operations Monitoring Analyst II focusing on monitoring and observability platforms used to monitor our enterprise infrastructure. In this role, you will be helping capture/diagnose/resolve issues identified in various platforms. In order to maintain our network infrastructure, while collaborating with other IT teams to enhance our Infrastructure performance. You will contribute to ensuring effective visibility on the entire technology stack and consistent operations around the complete toolchain.

To ensure success as an Operations Monitoring Analyst II, you should demonstrate a solid knowledge of Information Technology infrastructure. A top-notch Operations Monitoring Analyst II will be someone whose expertise results in a highly stable, fast and highly secure infrastructure environment. This individual will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving system, network and application issues without causing extended downtime for the IT systems. They should have a solid understanding of the administration and application of one or more observability/monitoring platforms. They should be able to demonstrate exposure to ITSM / ITIL principles.

Essential Functions:

  • Support configuration, maintenance and upgrading of all networks and infrastructures.
  • Creating new or modifying existing alerts for servers and virtual machines
  • Deploying and inspecting IT network systems.
  • Monitoring the performance and capacity of computer systems.
  • Performing regular checks on the network hardware and software.
  • Responding to network alerts and hardware malfunctions.
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting network errors.
  • Tracking and documenting network issues and compiling incident reports.
  • Responding to user requests
  • Running diagnostic tests on the communication between computers, routers, switches, firewalls, and servers.
  • Optimizing monitoring platforms
  • Keeping informed of advancements in network infrastructure and technologies.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge and experience with SolarWinds Orion modules: NPM, SAM
  • Knowledge of Windows admin and Linux skills
  • Knowledge of Web Hooks and API integrations
  • Exposure to AWS Cloudwatch
  • Prior exposure to concepts relating to the administration of SolarWinds products and related modules
  • Exposure to JSON code
  • Experience with simple SQL Scripting
  • Experience or exposure to graphing programs such as Grafana
  • Strong analytical thinking
  • Working knowledge of VoIP technology
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Proficiency regarding the support and resolution of hardware and software issues
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to solve problem creatively
  • Exposure to network classification and network topology concepts
  • Exposure to ITSM/ITIL standards

Training & Experience:

  • Certified Cisco, CompTIA, or Microsoft network professional preferred.
  • A minimum of one years' experience as an Operations Monitoring Analyst, or similar.
  • Exposure to network technologies, connectivity, protocols, and security concepts.
  • Superb analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Great interpersonal, communication, and collaboration abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • On-call availability outside of business hours to resolve urgent network issues.
  • Exposure to IT concepts and technologies, operating systems, networking, anti-virus, back-ups, systems and firewalls
  • Prior exposure to vendor products:- VMWare, Microsoft, Cisco, Fortinet, SolarWinds, Grafana, New Relic, Jira, and OpsGenie
