The Marketing Copywriter plays a critical role in planning and executing Marketing programs that contribute to lead generation, brand awareness, and sales support. As a contributor on the corporate marketing team reporting to Senior Director of Creative Services, this position will support Advertising, Creative Services and Digital Marketing teams. This role is directly responsible for completing assignments supporting internal communications and external consumer-facing advertising, as well as providing leadership on content assessment and gap analysis to drive strategy and planning.

Due to the quality required and quantity of turnkey assignments, this role requires a person with exceptional writing, organization, time-management and interpersonal communication skills. In pursuing the development of a content assignment, this role acts with demonstrated expertise but closely collaborates with internal and external subject matter experts, strategically shaping insights into an array of effective B2C content types, including advertisements, eBooks, blog posts, video scripts, email, social media, event support, internal newsletters, web etc.). The content you help create will be used to expand our team impact on lead generation across a variety of channels and customer personas.

This resource will also be responsible for the development of messaging strategy for each division and will be the ambassador of those strategic guidelines across the organizations and teams we support.


Responsibilities:

  • Directly develop content strategy for SelectQuote as a shared service supporting all divisions
  • Produce final deliverables for monthly and quarterly Marketing programs, acting with a strong sense of urgency
  • Research and write original content that engages and educates an identified audience and drives new lead generation
  • Provide leadership for content review cycle amongst key stakeholders and compliance
  • Collaborate with the team members on strategy development and lead flawless program execution
  • Execute programs with respect for key buyer personas and typical journeys, targeting audience needs / wants / unknowns at each stage of the funnel
  • Support the needs of Marketing Directors, Marketing peers and Segment Leads
  • Partner with the Digital team to support development of content needed to further SEO, SEM, Web site development and digital advertising goals
  • Serve as an expert on marketing program execution that supports multiple levels of the organization: company, segment, business unit and sales leadership
  • Monitor effectiveness of marketing initiatives and recommend adjustments to improve results
  • Proofread/Edit content to ensure it is consistent in terms of style/voice and SEO best practices
  • Interview internal and external subject matter experts
  • Drive multiple, simultaneous content-related projects in a results-focused environment
  • Identify and refine themes for packaging content and determining the format and distribution method for all marketing channels

Training & Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of B2C marketing
  • Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills
  • High sense of urgency and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
  • Bachelor’s degree required, focus in marketing or business preferred OR demonstrated ability to meet job requirements through a comparable number of years of applicable work experience
  • Strong editing and proofreading skills
  • Must possess a conversational and concise writing style
  • Capacity to multitask, prioritize and move between multiple projects and deliverables
  • Skilled at communicating with individuals at multiple levels of an organization
  • Prior experience producing content for lead generation is preferred
