Job Summary:

The Network Engineer III will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of information technology infrastructure, including physical data center and public cloud networking infrastructure . This person is responsible for implementing all aspects of the corporate network infrastructure strategy. This person will evaluate and monitor all network devices to ensure maximum reliability and throughput in order to maintain the desired availability of the corporate network. This is a senior level role.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Maintain complex multi-site TCP/IP and VoIP networks, including LAN/WAN, Wireless, ISP, Data Center, and Network Security technologies in line with business architectural needs and industry best practices
  • Ensures appropriate network and server monitoring and security systems and alerts are implemented and current
  • Documents and maintains network and infrastructure physical and logical diagrams
  • Drives and coordinates incident management for network related issues
  • Communicates effectively and efficiently with business lines and vendor partners regarding infrastructure support and analyses
  • Develops, recommends, and implements new or updated technologies and procedures to ensure streamlined, secure, and scalable networks
  • Provides oncall infrastructure support within a rotation
  • Lead by example and demonstrate high performance in the areas of customer service, collaboration, teamwork, reliability, productivity, and execution

Knowledge Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to adapt to new, advanced concepts and technologies quickly; grow skillset rapidly
  • Ability to plan, design, and lead project efforts with very minimal assistance from teammates/management
  • Ability to teach and improve teammates
  • Ability to identify gaps/weaknesses within the networking discipline, but also create effective solutions.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, identify problems, isolate variables at a high level
  • Comprehensive understanding of NGFW firewall configuration (FortiGate)
  • Comprehensive understanding of Cisco routing and switching
  • Comprehensive understanding of IPsec and SSL Virtual Private Networking (VPN)
  • Deploying/troubleshooting Wireless Networking
  • Amazon AWS – VPC, TGW, VPN Configurations, Route53, ELB, EC2
  • Network services including DNS, DHCP, SMTP, HTTPS
  • Security auditing techniques and intrusion detection, preferred

Education and Experience:

  • 6+ years of experience as a Network Engineer, Technology Consultant, or similar role
  • Fortinet NSE4+, CCNP, or other industry Network and Security certifications preferred
  • Experience designing secure networks, systems and application architectures
  • Experience working in an SDN environment (Fortinet, Meraki, Aruba, Unifi)

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
