Job Summary:

The Senior Business Product Owner will have deep functional expertise and strategic influence, playing a critical leadership role in setting product vision and strategy, balancing business goals and technical considerations, managing stakeholders, and driving cross-functional alignment and execution from planning through delivery. This role requires strong technical, analytics, communication, leadership, and collaboration skills to bridge gaps across key stakeholders in order to bring a product vision to life.

Essential Functions:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business and user base to understand needs, challenges, and goals to inform product strategy and roadmaps. Lead the planning process for new products and features.
  • Develop, document, manage, and communicate product vision, strategy, and prioritized roadmaps and backlogs.
  • Provide ongoing grooming and maintenance of the product backlog based on business value, dependencies, and effort required.
  • Create user stories, detailed specifications, and acceptance criteria for new features and products.
  • Develop and define success metrics for products and features.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for product development questions and needs from ideation through development, testing, and release to ensure effective execution on the product roadmap.
  • Represent the voice of the user and business throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Clearly communicate product plans and progress to executives, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
  • Track, analyze, and report on key product metrics to assess product and feature performance and iterate on product strategy.
  • Optimize and enhance existing products through new releases, updates, and improvements.
  • Stay up to date on industry and technology trends relevant to the products.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior business product owners and associates.

Training & Experience:

  • BA/BS degree in Business, Technology, or related field with 8-12 years product management experience.
  • Strong technical background with the ability to collaborate with software engineers.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic and analytical thinker with demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Experience managing complex products and platforms and developing product visions and roadmaps.
  • Proficiency with product management tools like JIRA.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycles and processes.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and balance business needs with technical constraints.
  • A data-driven approach to making product decisions.
  • A passion for building great products and features that meet business and user needs.
