Position Summary

SelectQuote (SQ) Internal Audit is looking for an Audit Manager to join the team and provide targeted, objective assurance and insight relative to Company governance, risk management and control practices. This position will be a leadership opportunity designed to assist in the development of annual audit plans and Audit Committee reports, reviewing work of audit staff as applicable, evaluating policies and procedures, overseeing initial risk assessments, overseeing the Sarbanes-Oxley compliance program, writing detailed audit observations and establishing recommendations based on observations. Position responsibilities include building highly-effective working relationships with internal clients, acting in an advisory role on internal controls, promoting best practices and effective processes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and participate in risk based audits and reviews, completing assignments on time and within budget, while meeting quality standards (30%)
  • Assist Audit Leadership in the development and execution of annual audit plan by using internal and external audit standards and assessing the effectiveness of the control environment. Ensure financial, legal, regulatory, operational and strategic risks are identified and appropriately addressed. (20%)
  • Participate in other strategic initiatives or special projects at the direction of Audit / executive management (10%)
  • Maintain an effective relationship with management at all levels to ensure efficiency of overall audit efforts as well as maximizing reliance on internal audit work product (10%)
  • Assist Audit Leadership with the preparation and execution of periodic reporting to Audit Committee (10%)
  • Lead, coach, and evaluate staff, providing career development opportunities. Ensure subordinates’ work is completed in accordance with professional standards in line with clients’ expectations and that issues have been properly analyzed and addressed (20%)

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in accounting, finance or business
  • Advanced degree OR certification as public accountant, internal auditor or information systems auditor [CPA, CIA, or CISA]
  • Minimum five (5) years of relevant work experience
  • Strong working knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 or experience leading internal controls over financial reporting activities strongly preferred
  • Previous supervisory or project management experience preferred
  • Financial Services industry experience is a plus although not required
